Near the beginning of 2008, a story hit the Internet that right off the bat looked to be one that wasn't going to go away anytime soon. I was talking with a co-worker about said story, and he happened to say to me, “I wish there was a website where you could follow stories; from beginning to end.” And not only that, but a website that could serve as a sort of collection of links to all articles related to a specific topic, so that you could see exactly how a story progressed.
The wheels started turning.
Within a few weeks most of the thoughts and ideas had been jotted down, so then began the actual construction of the website. Before I forget, let me explain something. We know about all of the other social networking and news linking websites. We do. The main goal of this site was to try and do something at least a little different, as we didn't want to just dive into something that had clearly already been done. You shouldn't beat a dead horse, right? Hopefully the direction we took and what we end up with will be different enough for you, the user.
As for how the site works, it's simple. Create a topic (if a similar one hasn't already been created), and then start adding links to articles that you find that relate to the topic. Both topics and articles can be modified by the users, so feel free to change things if something looks out of place. Try to avoid duplicate entries, and if you find one, please be sure it is actually a duplicate before reporting it (requesting its removal).
